As summer draws to a close and our outdoor painting sessions end, my thoughts turn to, warm comfortable rooms and cosy still-life painting. But wait - "It's not over until the fat lady sings", as they say. On October 15th, ten of us at Llantarnam Grange Art Club are going to share a week-end painting holiday in Camarthen.
This is the first shared painting holiday for our club, a new venture. There will be full board, (so we won't have to think about cooking), We will share three old restored cottages with plenty of elbow room to paint. Our tutor will be the talented and enthusiastic Janet Bligh. The painting theme for the week-end is autumn colours in the beautiful setting of the Glynhir Estate.
Still-lifes with flickering candle shadows will have to wait, while we capture the end of summer as she sings her way out.
